Everyone Loves Emily

Emily has just been a joy to have in our home. She has a lot of brown hair and so far her eyes are still blue. All of our other children have brown eyes. I was becoming resigned that Jonathan must not have a recessive gene so I would have to wait until we had grandchildren to get a blue-eyed child, but my hope has been rekindled. We shall see if they stay blue. (Cross your fingers) At her one-month check Emily weighed in at 10 pounds. Yep, she's gaining solidly. Here is a picture of my Mom helping Miriam hold her the day we came home from the hospital.

My niece, Monterey came out to help me for two weeks. This picture was taken on the 4th of July. We ate hamburgers out on the deck. It was a pretty low-key holiday this time around.
